Pastors Tony and Dianna Rivera dreamed of planting a church in the city of Miami that would be a catalyst for others to experience the presence of God in a place where living for Jesus is not typical. Their desire is to awaken individuals to become Christ-minded life-giving people who live life on Purpose.
In 2004, after serving with the ministries of Destiny World Outreach and New Harvest Church for 14 years, Pastors Tony and Dianna moved from Greenville South Carolina to Miami Florida. Here, with a small team of people who came together in Allapattah, CitiChurch was planted. Today Citi Church is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-generational ministry center in the heart of Miami that continues to awaken, connect and transform the lives of individuals and families.
Since 2005 Citi Church has offered opportunities to the community in the form of after school programs, culinary art classes, fitness program, youth groups, monthly groceries to needy families, free community events with the City Commissioner and many other outreaches.
In 2014 Citi Church opened Citi Christian Academy, a first through twelfth grade private school that specializes in offering educational opportunities to underserved students and families. Now anticipating the beginning of its third school year, CCA has grown from 20 students in its first year to an enrollment of 130 students for the 2016-2017 school year.
The impact of their outreach to the community was recognized by City of Miami Mayor Thomas Regalado and by City Commisioner Willy Gort as they presented Citi Church honoring their commitment to civic responsibility and communal welfare through generous donations and support for critical neighborhood projects in the City of Miami. This recognition was made on the observance of September 11, 2014.
Citi Church’s vision is still expanding and growing as opportunities come to fruition and more partnerships become available. As our motto states, “We are better together.”
